Sardonyx Wire Wrapped Pendant | Art Nouveau Copper Gemstone Jewelry

This one of a kind sardonyx pendant features a natural banded sardonyx gemstone wrapped by hand in pure copper wire. One side showcases flowing Art Nouveau inspired swirls, while the reverse has a simpler, more minimalist look, giving you two distinct styles in a single reversible piece of jewelry.

Sardonyx is a beautiful variety of banded agate known for its striking layers of orange, reddish brown, cream, and white. Because sardonyx is chalcedony that contains bands of sard (orange) and onyx, it is related to carnelian due to its warm orange and red bands. The dramatic banding makes every stone unique, with patterns created naturally by the Earth over millions of years.

In crystal healing traditions, sardonyx is often associated with grounding, protection, confidence, willpower, optimism, and perseverance. Many people work with sardonyx when pursuing long-term goals, building self-discipline, strengthening relationships, or seeking greater emotional stability.

I created this pendant using only pure copper wire, making it a great option for many people who are sensitive to common jewelry metals. The stone is drilled for additional security, so while there may be a slight amount of movement within the setting, the pendant is very securely wrapped. The copper has been oxidized, polished to highlight the details, then lightly oxidized again to enhance the warm red and orange tones within the stone. Finally, I treated the copper with Sculpt Nouveau Wax to help preserve the finish.

This pendant was handmade by me in my non-smoking studio in scenic Union, Washington with lots of love and meticulous attention to detail.

If you would like to add a matching necklace, I offer an optional high quality adjustable satin slipknot cord or a handcrafted antiqued copper oval link chain. The cord ends are melted into neat balls, and Hypocement is injected into the knots to help keep them secure. My copper chains are assembled by hand using nickel free, hypoallergenic materials. The chain links are soldered for strength, and the clasp and extender chain are connected with custom wire wrapped links accented with coordinating beads.

Copper chains include a 3 inch extender chain. Please select the shortest length you would like the necklace to hang, and you will be able to lengthen it by up to 3 inches. The most commonly selected length for my pendants is 17 inches.

My normal shipping turnaround is 1–3 business days. Please allow an additional 2–3 business days if you order a cord or chain so I can create and attach it for you.
