These natural Red Phantom Quartz crystals are genuine hematoid quartz specimens with visible hematite inclusions. Some pieces show clear internal phantom growth zones, while others are richly saturated red to orange quartz crystals heavily included with iron minerals.

This is real quartz crystal, not carnelian, not agate, not jasper. You can see altered crystal faces and growth habits throughout the lot.

Approximately 1 to 1.7 inches long.

Color

Red, orange, peach, and one pale transparent mauve.
Coloration comes primarily from hematite inclusions, with varying amounts of:

• Kaolinite (soft pink tones)

• Limonite (more orange tones)

Most pieces are opaque to semi-opaque. A few show visible internal phantom structures.

What Is Red Phantom Quartz?

Red phantom quartz is clear quartz that formed in stages. During pauses in growth, hematite settled on the crystal surface. When quartz growth resumed, those hematite layers became trapped inside, creating “phantom” outlines of earlier crystal formations.

Some specimens show clear phantom geometry. Others are so richly included that the quartz appears solid red.

This material is also called hematoid quartz. It is not chalcedony. It is crystalline quartz with iron inclusions.

Red phantom quartz combines the amplifying structure of quartz with the grounding influence of hematite.
