Muscovite Pegmatite Wire Wrapped Pendant | Rockhound Geologist Jewelry

This one of a kind muscovite-rich pegmatite pendant features a natural rock specimen that I personally collected at Quesnel Lake in British Columbia, Canada. Sparkling muscovite mica crystals are scattered throughout a beautiful pegmatite matrix of soft peach, salmon pink, orange, red, and white tones. Every specimen is different, making this a truly unique piece of rockhound jewelry.

Unlike most gemstone jewelry, this pendant showcases a natural piece of igneous rock in its raw state. The glittering muscovite crystals catch the light beautifully, creating flashes of sparkle across the surface of the stone. If you love geology, mineral collecting, lapidary arts, rockhounding, or unusual natural materials, this pendant is a wearable piece of the Earth's history.

Muscovite is often associated with clarity, self-reflection, intuition, personal growth, and insight. Many crystal enthusiasts use muscovite to encourage perspective, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.

I wrapped this specimen by hand using pure copper wire. The design is intentionally freeform, allowing the natural shape and character of the stone to guide the finished piece. The copper has been oxidized and polished to create warm antique tones and subtle rainbow highlights that complement the colors within the rock. Finally, I applied Sculpt Nouveau Wax to help preserve the finish.

Because this pendant is made from genuine copper, the metal will continue to develop additional character and patina over time.  When it oxidizes, you may buff it with a jewelry polishing cloth to reclaim its bright copper highlights, further adding to its rustic character.

All materials are nickel free and hypoallergenic.

If you would like to add a matching necklace, I offer an optional high quality adjustable satin slipknot cord or a handcrafted antiqued copper chain. The cord ends are melted into neat balls, and Hypo Cement is injected into the knots to help keep them secure. My copper chains are assembled by hand using nickel free, hypoallergenic materials. The chain links are soldered for strength, and the clasp and extender chain are connected with custom wire wrapped links accented with coordinating beads.

Copper chains include a 3 inch extender chain. Please select the shortest length you would like the necklace to hang, and you will be able to lengthen it by up to 3 inches. The most commonly selected length for my pendants is 17 inches.

My normal shipping turnaround is 1–3 business days. Please allow an additional 2–3 business days if you order a cord or chain so I can create and attach it for you.

This pendant was handmade by me in my non-smoking studio in scenic Union, Washington. Your order will arrive with a cloth jewelry satchel and a surprise gift.
